as told by Zero
Living with grandma and grandpa has been really nice! Sometimes I get a little bored though. I miss Random Guy. He always kept me busy and there was always something new to examine in the basement.
The Change
Everyone has a different schedule in this house. Grandma wakes up late and leaves later in the day. Grandpa is gone before mom and I get up. Mom is away for longer. There’s lots of light to sunbathe in, and they had a recliner ready for my arrival, which was really very nice. I didn’t love the act of moving, but now that we’re here I am starting to feel more comfy!
The Rules

For some reason, they don’t like me walking on the counter tops or tables? I don’t really know why that is. At Yellow house I slept on the table. Why would it be any different here? They won’t allow it. They also seem to be protective of the couch. I’m not supposed to scratch that. Other than that, I have no complaints.
The Set Up
Mom and I live downstairs. She blocks the cat door to upstairs at night. I think it’s actually blocked all the time, but I’m afraid to give it another try because I was already denied by the door once.
Mom said she doesn’t want me to wake up my grandparents. It’s like she thinks I’m some kind of monster.

The Walks
I’ve been going for walks in the yard mostly. It’s a nice green backyard and a pebbly front yard so I get a bit of everything to sniff at. I’ve so far only seen 2 cats. One of them is another tabby and it really pissed me off.
It was meowing in the neighbour’s yard for no reason and I was like chill out. It started coming closer to me and mom. We growled at it and told it to get lost (I’m assuming mom was also growling). This cat didn’t understand and kept coming closer. Mom ended up slowly dragging me away. What was that guy’s problem?
The Bonding
I like spending more quality time with mom. She gets me. I sleep on the bed most nights now. The other night I slept by her head to keep her warm. This bed is cozy and it’s nice and cool downstairs.

Grandpa
Grandpa turns the fireplace on for me sometimes and says I’m gentle when I play. Mom told him not to touch me on the scratch post, though. She’s right. I turn into a different cat on there. Sometimes I don’t even remember what I’ve done. I black out and wake up purring.
I could tell grandpa wasn’t sure of me at first. he kept his distance. Mom says he’s this thing called “allergic” but that sounds like some kind of excuse.

Grandma
Grandma loves me. She always says hello and gives me nice pets. She gives me lots of space but likes me being around. I like how much she gives me treats when mom’s not home. Grandma sends mom photos of me when she’s gone and mom said she really likes that.

The Summary
I’m warming up to this place. Mom mentioned we’ll be moving soon, but I really hope we can stay a little longer to spend more time with Grandma and Grandpa.
