As told by mom
Since our last post, Zero has been playing this really funny prank on my parents and it makes me so very happy. My dad is allergic to cats, so I probably shouldn’t find this as funny as I do, but
Here’s the story:
When I moved home we had a plan to keep Zero somewhat contained. My parents keep their bedroom door closed, and at night Zero stays downstairs with me. During the day, he’s earned the trust to be allowed upstairs (at last).
Recliner Man

Zero took to the recliner immediately. He laid there day after day, it was the cutest thing. My dad mentioned putting a towel down one day, so I did. I guess to keep the fur in one place.
Couch Connoisseur

The next week, I got home from work at there was a sheet spread out on the white couch in the small living room, Zero was sprawled across it. My mom explained that he’s changed his seating arrangement. So now 2 pieces of furniture remain covered.
Armchair Expert

The following week, we all notice that he has now moved into the other living room, with the tv. He’s taken to the armchair in there. The next day there is a towel on this chair. Zero spent the week curling up in this chair and I think he really enjoyed being in the room where everyone else was.
Targeting the Twin
Today, I got this text from my mom and it made me laugh out loud:

Zero is now sitting in the armchairs match, across the room from his old favourite spot.
Why I Love This so Much
I find this so great I think because my parents are trying to understand him but there is nothing to be understood. I think I love it too because it shows me how alike we are. Some choices don’t mean anything, some decisions are purely random. Maybe there’s a subconscious push from something but I really love that some things are decided by feeling.
That’s what Zero and I think.
Update!
I got an update from my mom the day after posting this blog.

Zero suddenly decided to use his bed. He hasn’t used his bed since I can’t remember when.. he’s really keeping us all on our toes.
